Manage Your Prompts

Once you have more than a few prompts, organization matters.

TypeBoost gives you a few simple tools to keep your prompt list clean and easy to use.

Open the Prompt List

On Mac, open:

Menu bar -> Settings -> Prompts

This is the main place to manage your prompt library.

Edit the Prompt Itself

Inside the prompt editor, you can change:

  • name
  • type
  • tags
  • description
  • active status
  • whether changes should be shown by default
  • the prompt messages themselves

If you want deeper control, you can also adjust advanced settings such as model choice and prompt parameters.

Keep Only Useful Prompts Active

Active prompts are the prompts that appear when you open TypeBoost to run something.

That means you do not need every saved prompt to stay active all the time.

A good workflow is:

  • keep your everyday prompts active
  • turn off prompts you only use sometimes
  • reactivate them later when needed

This keeps the prompt picker fast and easy to scan.

Use Tags and Filters

Tags help you group prompts by topic or job.

Examples:

  • email
  • social
  • writing
  • translation

You can also filter prompts by type, such as text prompts or voice prompts, so the list is easier to manage.

Reorder and Duplicate

If you use some prompts much more often than others, reorder them so your favorites stay near the top.

If you want a variation of a prompt, duplicate it instead of starting from zero.

That is a fast way to create small versions of the same job, such as:

  • Improve Email
  • Improve Email for Clients
  • Improve Email and Make It Shorter

Delete When It No Longer Helps

Old prompts create noise.

If a prompt no longer matches how you work, delete it or turn it inactive.

A smaller, cleaner prompt set is usually more useful than a large messy one.
